Itinerary Ordering in Trips with Multiple Booking Sources

Itinerary Ordering in Trips with Multiple Booking Sources

When importing bookings from multiple sources (i.e. HELiO, Tramada, Sabre, etc.) into a single Trips itinerary (and/or that contains flight segments that cross the International Date Line), there may be instances of the PDF and/or Web Itinerary displaying segments out of order. This issue occurs because the system is unsure which booking order to use to display the segments, as each booking will have a specific order numbering coming from HELiO (the default sorting logic).

NEW WORKFLOW! TRIP PUBLISHER RELEASE 2.20 - FCB, LIBERTY TRAVEL, AND TRAVEL ASSOCIATES

  1. Scroll down for the workflow for Independents (Travel Partners, Travel Managers, etc.)
To accommodate users who may need to combine multiple HELiO bookings alongside other integration bookings (i.e. Tramada), we have added an ORDER BY dropdown that you can use to order segments on the PDF and Web View chronologically as displayed within Trip Publisher.

Step 1: If you have any Trips with multiple booking sources not displaying in the correct order, you can select Date (Chronological) from the dropdown.

Step 2: Refresh your browser window using the refresh button.

Step 3: Review your itinerary. If there are any segments that you need to re-arrange within a specific date, drag and drop them to the proper location and check the 'Display after cross date line flight' where needed.
Some segments from HELiO (e.g. transfer and car rental segments) are received with no specific pickup or dropoff times and default to 12:00 AM. This causes the transfer to appear before the flights on the PDF. A time must be entered for these segments to display them correctly in order on the PDF. Edit the applicable segment and add an approximate time for this segment (after the flight arrival). Tick the "Display after the cross date line flight" if applicable.
  1. TIP: entering the same time for both Start and End time will hide the time from displaying on the PDF or Web View while allowing you to position the segment correctly.

Step 4: View the PDF and Web View. The itinerary should display in the order you set it within Trip Publisher.

More details about adjusting cross date line segments can be found in this article:

SOLUTION FOR INDEPENDENT BRANDS WHO USE MULTIPLE BOOKING SOURCES

To accommodate users who may need to combine multiple HELiO bookings alongside other integration bookings (i.e. Tramada), we have implemented a Trip Tag that you can use to essentially tell the system to ignore the backend ordering and order segments on the PDF and Web View chronologically as displayed within Trip Publisher.

If you have any Trips not displaying in the correct order, you can add the tag ORDER_BY_DATE within the Trip Details. Once added, this will arrange the Trip chronologically and allow you to drag and drop segments within the same date without restriction.

Step 1: Add the tag ORDER_BY_DATE to the Trip Details. To do this, click the Pencil icon in the trip header and add the tag in the Tags field. If there are any other HELiO tags or other tags, add this tag to the end (with a space following the last tag present). Once added, click UPDATE.

A time must be entered to have this displayed correctly in order on the PDF.

You can use that tag for any Trips that contain multiple booking sources when needed.

We are looking further into a more efficient way to order itineraries that contain multiple sources, but in the meantime, adding the tag should resolve any issues.
