ENHANCEMENT - Segment Ordering in TRiPS

Since the initial release of the segment order feature this past July, we are continuing to make enhancements based on feedback and edge cases that have been identified, to better simplify the use of Trips and the delivery of digital documentation with the HELiO & TRiPS integration.

Below is a recap of the initial scenarios we were trying to solve:
  1. Transfer segments are out of order as there are no times added in HELiO for transfer segments.
  2. Flights that cross the international date line are out of order.
  3. Hotels display before flights when the hotel check-in time is earlier than the flight departure time.

Enhancements as part of this release:

Drag and drop within Trip Publisher

  1. The ability to now drag and drop segments freely within Trip Publisher without restriction is now available.
Important Note: Once you drag and drop any HELiO component in Trip Publisher, manual ordering will be enabled. For any changes pushed via HELiO, you will need to check Trip Publisher to ensure ordering is as desired.

Merging Trips in Trip Publisher

  1. Chronological ordering will be used when two bookings are merged in Trip Publisher.
How will this work?
  1. The HELiO segment ordering is already enabled, so you can continue to update the itinerary order using the Itinerary View menu on HELiO.
  2. After saving the itinerary order in HELiO, you can push the itinerary to Trips using the Trips Modal.
  3. Trips will display segments based on the HELiO itinerary order.
Additional Considerations
  1. Always use HELiO as the primary source for adding segments to ensure the itinerary order is always correct when re-pushing to Trips. We recommend that segments are not manipulated in Trip Publisher, as this enables manual ordering and you will need to use the drag/drop functionality to place where desired.
  2. Any notes added will appear at the beginning of the itinerary, and linked notes will display following the segment.
  3. Consultants can drag and drop segments to re-order within Trip Publisher; however, any subsequent updates from HELiO will override this. For any changes pushed via HELiO, you will need to check Trip Publisher to ensure ordering is as desired.
